He enjoys challenging contact lens fits, including scleral lenses. He participates in InfantSEE, which offers free eye exams for children 6-12 months of age, and Sight for Students, which provides free vision exams and glasses to low-income, uninsured children. He also donates his time to Vision USA, which provides free eye exams to low-income uninsured adults.

In his free time, Dr. Unterbrink enjoys golfing, spending time at the lake and being with family and friends. He and his wife Allison reside in the Delphos area with their two children, Kendall and Keegan.

Dr. Stephen CaJacob

Dr. Stephen CaJacob graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1970 and accepted a commission in the US Navy Medical Service Corps as a Lieutenant serving in the Department of Optometry and Ophthalmology at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital until 1972. There he had the opportunity to treat both routine and radical eye issues for military personnel returning from Vietnam, their families, and naval base officers.

Immediately following his tour of duty, Dr. CaJacob returned to his home-town roots in Lima, Ohio and began private practice. His concern for his patients is reflected in his willingness to stay at the front edge of change and innovation in the field of eye care and diseases as they develop.

The partnership between optometry and the CaJacob family is not new. Dr. CaJacob is the third generation of professional eye care specialists in Lima, representing over 125 years of professional eye care. He is nationally and state licensed to provide full scope Optometry including the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. His professional affiliations include national, state, and regional groups.

Affectionately known as Dr. Steve, his community responsibilities have included board memberships and officer status with the Lima City Schools, Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District, Rotary Club and the Allen County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. It isn’t unusual to see Dr. Steve volunteering as a finish judge at swim meets or training for Pelotonia.
